When to call

Texas freezes come fast. We repair and replace gas furnaces, electric furnaces and heat pumps.

A heat pump that blows cool air for a few minutes in winter may just be in its normal defrost cycle. If it lasts longer than that, call us.

If you smell gas, leave the house right away and call your gas company or 911 from outside. Don’t flip switches or use the thermostat. Keep working carbon monoxide alarms near bedrooms.

  • No heat at all, or the system won’t turn on
  • The furnace starts, then shuts off before the house warms up
  • The heat pump blows cool air for long stretches in heat mode
  • Burning or unusual smells when the heat runs
  • Loud banging, scraping or squealing from the furnace

From real jobs

Inside the heat section

Most heating problems start with parts you never see. Here is what we found inside a gas heating unit, and how we handle it.

Gas burners and rusted manifold inside a heating unit

Rusted burner manifold

The burners and gas manifold of a gas unit. The manifold pipe and heat shield are rusted, the insulation is loose, and dirt has built up around the burners.

How we fix itWe clean the burners, check the manifold, gas pressure and flame, inspect the heat exchanger for cracks, and test for carbon monoxide. Rusted or failing parts are replaced so the unit lights clean and burns safely.

Ignition control board, inducer motor and gas valve inside a gas heating unit

Ignition control, inducer and gas valve

The control side of the heat section: the ignition control board, the inducer (draft) motor and the gas valve. The cabinet insulation is torn and there is corrosion around the gas piping.

How we fix itWe run the full ignition sequence and test the flame sensor, inducer, pressure switch and rollout safeties. Failed parts get replaced, wiring is cleaned up and secured, and loose insulation is repaired.

How a visit works

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. Diagnose

We test the system and find the real cause, not just the symptom.

  2. Quote & authorize

You get repair and replacement options with prices in writing. Nothing starts until you approve.

  3. Do the work

Same-day repairs in most cases. Installs and repairs done right, with the old equipment hauled away.

  4. Test

We measure airflow and temperatures and show you the result.

Questions we hear

FAQ

Do you handle heating emergencies at night?

Yes. No heat on a freeze night is an emergency and we answer 24/7.

Repair or replace an old furnace?

We price both. One customer’s 36-year-old system failed right before a winter blast. We came out the next day and replaced it. For a newer system, a repair is often the better value.

What customers say

Awesome company! My 36 year old heating system finally kicked the bucket just in time for a winter blast. Shain services came out next day, system ordered and replaced immediately. Couldn’t be happier. I feel so fortunate for these guys. Very professional, communication was top notch, respected my time and my home!
